IMPROVING THE MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABLE USE OF MARINE AND COASTAL RESOURCES OF SMALL ISLAND DEVELOPING STATES
Fiji will host the official Pre-COP31 climate meetings in Nadi from 5 to 8 October 2026, bringing together government representatives, climate negotiators and key stakeholders ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31). A special leaders' component will also be held in Tuvalu.
The OACPS SIDS High-Level Dialogue on Climate Finance and Nature-based Solutions will bring together ambassadors, policymakers, development partners, financing institutions, and technical experts to explore how climate and biodiversity finance can be mobilised more effectively for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The event will take place on 10 September 2026 at the OACPS Secretariat in Brussels.
COP31, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from 9 to 20 November 2026. The conference will bring together governments, negotiators, observers and other stakeholders to advance global climate action under the UNFCCC process and support an open, transparent and inclusive dialogue in the lead-up to and during the meeting.
From 19 to 30 October 2026, he UN Biodiversity Conference (CBD COP 17) will take place in Yerevan, Armenia. The conference will bring together governments and stakeholders from around the world to advance the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity and assess progress on the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
From 26 to 29 March 2026, you can follow the 11th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the OACPS in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, marking the 50th anniversary of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
A session of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Forum will be held at the forthcoming OACPS Summit, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea (Home - 11th OACPS Summit | 50 years).
The main theme of the Forum "Putting SIDS at the center of the global climate and development agenda" will be covered by thematic panels during the anticipated session on Friday the 26th of March.

The United Nations Ocean Conference 2025 (UNOC3) is being held in Nice from 9 to 13 June and focuses on the theme “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”.
